About Liz
|
Liz Perry is a Canadian mixed-media artist whose practice is rooted in intuition, emotional honesty, and the act of letting go. Her work emerged from a deeply personal journey of moving away from perfectionism and self-doubt toward trust, presence, and creative freedom.
Working primarily with oils, acrylics, and graphite, Liz approaches painting as a process of discovery rather than control. She builds, erases, and responds to each surface, allowing emotion and instinct to guide the work forward. This way of working reflects her belief that clarity and meaning come not from forcing outcomes, but from staying open to what unfolds. People and psychology have long shaped Liz Perry’s interest in painting, particularly the internal states we carry but rarely express. Over time, her practice has evolved into a space where vulnerability, restraint, and quiet moments of pause take precedence over narrative or spectacle. Currently, Liz is focused on developing cohesive figurative bodies of work that explore emotional presence and connection. Through her practice, she aims to create space—for herself and for viewers—where imperfection is not something to overcome, but something to trust.
